what kind of laptop should i buy ?

i have a sony vaio core 2 duo T6500 2.10 gz
memory 4GB
hard drive 320 GB
rating windown experience 3.8
this is a latop belong to my mother that she bought like 4 years ago

it is slow and i need a new one

My major in college is graphic designer

however, i will not study this till the winter of 2015

i know it is far away from now and im not sure should i buy a high performance laptop for graphic design

for now i take classes to earn the associate degree, so i don’t think i will need any thing that relate to graphic much.

for gaming purpose, i have a PS3 so i don’t think i will play any on a laptop.

please tell me your opinion specifically that should i buy a graphic design laptop or a normal laptop

if you could give me the link of a good laptop that will be perfect
my sister is a student who doing interior design (house design)

she also had a macbook pro

from her experience, apple product are good but too many obstacle for installing software on graphic design, hard to use.

A Macbook Pro with discrete graphics card such as the regular 15 in. If you could afford it, choose the Retina Model.
