Titanfall is adding a horde mode

In news that will delight the tens of people still playing the game, it looks like Titanfall is getting an update. An update that developer Respawn Entertainment calls its “biggest update ever” as the game descends into the madness of co-op and horde mode.

Called Frontier Defense, the new mode matches four players up and places them in charge of a vital objective that pumps out space stuff, as the PC attempts to kill them by throwing wave after wave of bullet sponges at them that increase in difficulty and calibre absorption. So once again, horde mode.

There’ll be all kinds of enemies gunning for you and your pals, including “Grunts and Spectres, stealthy Sniper Spectres and Cloak Drones, explosive Suicide Spectres and Nuclear Titans, ranged Mortar Titans, and even melee-resistant Arc Titans,” according to the Titanfall blog.

There’ll be loadout crates dotted around your objective so that you can swap gear in the middle of the game, while respawns will have players flying back into battle in dropships. There’s also a new separate mode called Ranked Play, which gives players a set of challenge tiers for all standard competitive matches. This mode will still be in beta however, and will last through October and be available to players of level 32 or higher. From that point on, it’ll be made available through a season model on a monthly basis.

There’s also a ton of other little tweaks being implemented. If you’re still playing the game that is. Hello? Anyone here.
