Although mostly known for making low-cost, flagship-level smartphones, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has dabbled in other segments of the market as well. Case in point, the Mi Powerbank Pro, which represents Xiaomi’s latest entry in the portable power bank market.

Equipped with a USB Type-C connector port, you can use the Mi Powerbank Pro to charge up your sparkling new Mi 5, Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone. However, the power bank can also charge up anything else that uses the new connector port, such as the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, OnePlus 2, and even Apple’s svelte MacBook. For those who don’t have devices with a USB Type-C port, don’t fret – the Mi Powerbank Pro features a regular USB port for just about everything else.

As far as raw power is concerned, the Mi Powerbank Pro features a whopping 10,000mAh battery capacity. The power bank also supports fast charging with 5V/2A, 9V/2A, and 12V/1.5A configurations, so you can charge up your smartphones and the power bank itself relatively quickly. More specifically, Xiaomi says the power bank can be charged from empty to full in three and a half hours, which the company states is 40 percent faster than if you use a regular 5V/2A charger.

Compared to Xiaomi’s previous power bank, which also had a 10,000mAh capacity, the Mi Powerbank Pro is 42 percent thinner while weighing 223 grams. The Mi Powerbank Pro is similar to the company’s previous power banks in letting you know how much charge is left with the four LED lights next to the connectors.

Finally, as with any other Xiaomi product, the best aspect of the Mi Powerbank Pro is probably its price tag — 149 Yuan, roughly equivalent to $22. Unfortunately, the power bank has only been announced for China so far, but we’d imagine a global release is in the works.
