Lonestar Racing has made a name for themselves supplying high performance race ATV’s and exotic duners, this is one of their most amazing builds yet.

Anyone can get an ATV made street legal in the state of Arizona. But for a daily driver or even a weekend cruiser, a typical machine like a Honda TRX450 or Grizzly 4X4 really wouldn’t be that much fun.

That’s why Bobby Boyer, who works at Lonestar Racing in Phoenix Arizona set out to build what has been dubbed the Street Shark. Basically Boyer used the same approach Lonestar does when building one of their super light sand machines, but added some creature comforts and beefed it up for on road use. Check out the photos of the Street Shark up close and the build sheet below.

Yamaha’s R1 is a great street bike. However, it’s motor does real good in the sand stuffed into a light weight stretched Lonestar frame.

The stock Yamaha R1 will go over 160 MPH. With the right gearing this quad could easily break the 120 mark on pavement.

Lonestar Racing’s custom Sand Shark chassis start around $6000. This one has about 10K into it.

If you want a great on road ATV don’t start with a stock one, they do better in the dirt.

Boyer finished his two year long project just in time to ride to this years Arizona’s “Bike Week”.
